EFFEXOR'S SIDE EFFECTS

...you get these strange things happening to you, you begin to freak out. You think that you're going crazy and getting more and more out of control. When I looked up the effexor side effects on the internet I didn't find very much (in 2001). Most people I've spoken to in person or online taking effexor told me that their doctors said the same thing, "No side effects". I don't blame my doctors for this as most GP's have about a billion pieces of information to absorb and can't understandibly focus just on one drug in one area. They get their info from the research (provided by drug companies) and then pass it on to us. I do blame the drug company and to an extent psychiatrists who do specialize in mood altering medication.

The one's I experienced were; sweating & shaking in the beginning, dry mouth, decresed libido, weight gain (40lbs+) and extremely vivid dreams. Most of the people I have spoken to over the years have had side effects also. The most common were; weight gain, vivid dreams, brain shocks and decreased libido.

I went nuts with the weight gain. Thinking that "I" must have been at fault some how. Maybe I was just getting old (I am 35 now). Maybe my diet wasn't clean enough. Maybe ...

Deep down though I knew something wasn't right. I was doing pretty much the same things as I always have but now I had 40 extra pounds on me.
