EFFEXOR AND ANXIETY

...having panic attacks several times a day you feel like you're gonna die and so you'll take any lifeline that is thrown to you. A few were and Effexor was one of them. I started taking 37.5mg and then up to the regular dose for anxiety which was 75mg. The good thing is that it worked. I started to feel more calm and in control of myself again which was a big help. But, looking back, I realize that I never needed the Effexor. All I needed was for a doctor to tell me that I wasn't gonna die, that the continued anxiety wasn't gonna kill me and that the physical symptoms of anxiety were harmless. For that to happen I needed about 30 minutes of his/her time to ask questions and for them to explain to me confidently that I was safe and why I was so. But that's a subject for an anxiety website and this is purely about Effexor.
